Meet Rod

He comes to you with a humble heart and a head full of stories.  He is a story-teller, plain and simple.

He’s found he adapts well to many tasks and can learn almost anything, but writing has always made him the happiest.  Truth be told, being a dad tops the list by a long-shot, but fatherhood doesn’t come with a paycheck.

Quite the opposite.

He chose his second favorite thing in the world as a career.  Imagine his surprise when he learned it doesn’t pay much more than parenting…

So, where does Rod get his ideas?
Good question!

The Gods?

The Ether?

The channeling of a parallel universe?

 Simple observation?

He’s not always certain, but his high school creative writing teacher, Sid Waller, started each class session with two words, “What If?”.

Rod finds that even today, those two words are as good a starting point as they were to an impressionable seventeen-year-old kid back in good old 1986.

Rod R. Garcia

Novelist, Publisher, and Award-nominated Author

Rod was born and raised in San Jose, CA, but contends that he really grew up when at age eighteen, he moved South to cut his teeth in Hollywood.

Originally trained as a stage performer, Rod’s first aspiration was to be an actor.  After several months of fruitless auditions, (his only offers for work being within the adult film industry), he moved onto a new phase of his career, and his ‘Plan B’ turned out to be more fulfilling than he could have ever imagined.

Rod eventually found work at a small literary agency in Beverly Hills.  Over the next several months, he worked as a proof-reader, editor, and copywriter.  In time, he even took on some agent’s duties.  And so it was, that within the walls of a converted aviary in the heart of Beverly Hills, Rod met his life’s calling face to face.

Over the years, Rod had held an eclectic variety of jobs which have prepared him for his ultimate career path.  He’s seen a lot in his life and has developed a unique set of insights into the world in which we live.  He’s been a Cattle Wrangler, Private Investigator, Personal Chef, Waiter, Bank Auditor, Parking Officer, Hotel Manager, College Counselor, Salesperson, Talent Agent, Corporate Trainer, and Taxi Driver just to name a few.

Rod’s first published work, co-written with Shaun McGinnis, was: “The Bloodline: Birth of the Vampir”, released in August of 2013.

In 2014, Rod established EpiphanyMill LLC., a full-service publishing house & film studio.

Rod is currently wrapping up a horror/psychological thriller entitled ‘Iteration’ (formerly known as Therapy), a young adult’s series called indGame, as well as a screenplay (comedic/drama) called ‘Bluetooth’, and an apocalyptic thriller entitled ‘Regress’.  About eighty-five additional works are waiting in the wings, all existing in his laptop at some varying stage of completion and within the great halls of his imagination as a complete anthology of completed works.
